Leadership Seminar

“Revitalized Congregations”
Leadership Seminar, March 10-12, 2017

Howard Wagler, pastor of Journey Mennonite Church in South Hutchinson, Kansas, is the speaker at the annual Leadership Seminar of New York Mennonite Conference. Howard has led established Mennonite churches in revitalization, serving as pastor of Journey Mennonite for 24 years. Visit:  www.journeymennonite.org

The seminar date has been moved from early February to reduce the likelihood of weather-related travel difficulties. It will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, and conclude with the noon meal on Sunday, March 12, 2017.

Howard writes, “I am a pastor who has a deep love for the local church. When I stop long enough to think of Jesus looking over Jerusalem, and I realize his deep love for all people, I long to see people experience Jesus for the first time and again."

God’s desire is for each of our churches to thrive where they are planted. Learn from our story, then carve your own path toward revitalization. Where is God calling you?

In this weekend we will:
  • Spend time in prayer and personal leadership reflection.
  • Explore the sending nature of God as described in the scriptures.
  • Share stories of how the Holy Spirit has led (and continues to lead) Journey Mennonite Church toward missional transformation.
  • Learn some tools and strategies that will give life to teaching, vision, and mission.”
The location is not yet final; we anticipate that it will be in western New York.
